Sjodin Search Over, Body Recovered

The body of Dru Sjodin has been found. A full scale search was launched over the weekend and within hours the Polk County Sheriff announced to volunteers "Dru is home." Sjodin disappeared November 22nd from the Columbia Mall parking lot in Grand Forks. Convicted sex offender Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. has been charged with her kidnapping and is jailed in Grand Forks. It is anticipated charges will be upgraded to murder. Sjodin's family has asked for privacy.

Flooding Headaches in the Valley

Flooding continues to cause problems in the northestern part of North Dakota. In Emerado as many as 50 homes have been hit by flooding. Police Chief Tim Gillespie says some homeowners got hit hard. Flooding has stabalized.

A voluntary evacuation of the Acks Trailer Park was issued early Monday morning. A temporary shelter was set up at the Emerado school. Grand Forks County Emergency Manager Jim Campbell says the shelter is expected to close this afternoon.

North Dakota Powerball Opens

North Dakotan's enjoyed their first crack at a Powerball jackpot over the weekend. Grand Forks State Senator Ray Holmberg served on a committee that helped establish the guidelines says it's hard to evaluate what impact it will have on the state.
